Adaptive re-use of this existing three storey building in Surry Hills to incorporate a new childcare facility and community space, including new outdoor spaces and link bridge to outdoor play area in adjacent site.
The project involved the gutting of the existing industrial brick building and construction of new internal concrete floors with exposed off form concrete, internal timber ‘pods’, structural glazing and stainless steel mesh. Extensive use of finely designed steelwork to existing building openings and balustrades/fences around adjacent playground and linking bridge.
