New structures and extensive concourse associated with the park and pool upgrade works to include new changerooms, a re-fitted and refurbished 50m swimming pool and an underground tri-generation highly energy efficient plant facility. The project features a 140m long folded post tensioned reinforced concrete amenity building supported on a series of sloped columns incorporating a ‘green roof’ deep planted surface over the building, the largest of its type in Sydney. Air exhaust and intake chimneys over the plant room were designed as large diameter public art elements, coloured precast concrete bleacher seating was incorporated and the fence around the project is one of the largest tensile mesh structures in USA.
